Sail the high seas and join the One of Us crew for their Our Flag Means Death review.

The Screener Squad is setting out on the open seas with the new comedy/drama Our Flag Means Death. Stede Bonnet has left his family behind to become a pirate, but not just any kind of pirate. He wants to become the first “gentleman pirate.”

From paying his crew a salary to lining his quarters with books and the finest clothing, Stede is a different kind of pirate and this is a different kind of show. Rhys Darby, Taika Waititi, Rory Kinnear, and a phenomenal cast bring us a show that takes representation and its portrayal to heart.

Our Flag Means Death Review

Robert, Marco, Tessa, and Dogget are here with a lengthy talk about what surprised them, what they loved, and what they would love to see more of. So, listen now to hear us talk about our varying prior exposure to pirates on screen, how effective the drama and comedy are, a special loving shoutout to our fellow reviewer Nathan, the show’s ties to reality, and Dogget’s list of lesser-known pirate movies. Long live Widow Bonnet!
