The premier of Kenobi is only a month away, and these brand new images give us a new look of what’s to come.

It’s hard to deny how much we, as a fandom, are looking forward to Kenobi. Not too long ago, Ewan McGregor’s return to the character was a dream show for many of us. Now we’re something like a month away from seeing it streaming into all of our living rooms.

McGregor, who took the character Alec Guinness made famous and made it his own in the prequel trilogy, is back as the Jedi in hiding. And we’re looking forward to seeing what brings him out of hiding and across the galaxy. Last month’s teaser trailer already had us looking for more. But while we wait, Total Film Magazine has our back with some exclusive new images from the series.

Total Film Magazine

The eponymous Kenobi is looking pretty darn good despite the last few years spend in hiding on Tatooine. We know he’s spending his time, in part, watching out for a young Luke Skywalker. Here it looks like he’s doing his best to hide in plain sight with drab, nondescript clothing and colors. Nothing about his tunic or the blanket he seems to be wearing as a cloak scream “Jedi,” and I think that’s exactly what Kenobi is going for. We can only assume he’ll throw that blanket-cloak off dramatically just before a battle starts.

Daiyu

Total Film Magazine

We know that this series will take us, at least briefly, to the brand new-to-us planet of Daiyu. Described as a Honk Kong or New York City-esque city, it the opposite of Tatooine, where most of the action has been happening for a few shows now. It’s hard to say exactly what will happen on Daiyu, but we know from the trailer the “Third Sister” or Inquisitor Reva will be seen here. It’s always exciting to see another planet added to the mix and we hope this is a location we see for more than a passing scene or two. It looks like a vibrant place full of interesting characters and more interesting stories. And while we’re focusing on Kenobi right now, we want to see this location used for more than meeting seedy contacts and buying intel from information brokers.

The Grand Inquisitor

Total Film Magazine

The Grand Inquisitor has been getting flack from fans for not looking exactly as he did in the Star Wars: Rebels. And this is definitely a different take on him aesthetically than we’ve seen, but I don’t hate it. He’s undeniably recognizable as the Grand Inquisitor, and the fact that he’s hunting Jedi – and presumably specifically Kenobi – is scary enough. The spinning Inquisitor lightsaber in live action certainly drives the fear home. We got glimpses of the iconic lightsaber in the trailer, but this is or first somewhat detailed look at it. And it looks good. We can’t wait to see it in action.
