“Long millennia spent isolated from the worst of the galaxy’s conflicts have done nothing to soften the Leagues of Votann. Thanks to their naturally hardy constitutions and their terrifyingly technologically advanced Ancestor Cores, even their basic soldiers – known as Hearthkyn Warriors – can rumble with the best that the 41st Millennium has to offer.”

Leagues of Votann Trooper Statline

So there you have the basic statline for the Hearthkyn Warriors of the Leagues of Votann. They are very similar to Space Marines but have one less inch of movement, 1 wound, and a 4+ save. They still hit and shoot on a 3+ and have 4s in both Strength and Toughness.

This basically puts them slightly below a Marine but more imposing than a guardsmen. They are about the same as a Sister of Battle but with a slightly worse armor save. It’s nothing to scoff at for sure! And you know they are going to have more tricks up their sleeves. Their leaders, for instance, have an even better statline:

Not bad! Not bad at all. We’ll get a better idea about this unit once we get a closer look at their firepower. We also got a look at one other teaser about the League and how their Hearthkyn work:

“Combined with solid void-hardened armour and their knack for sticking around in close combat, these guys march in squads of up to 20 with high-tech guns blazing before charging in to mop up survivors.”

Squad sizes are up to 20?! A knack for sticking around in close combat? High-tech guns? Hmm…Now I’m VERY curious about how these troopers are going to perform. A 20-man squad doesn’t leave a small footprint. If nothing else it’s a lot of models to dislodge. I can’t wait to see what else they are packing.

That’s all we’ve got for now. What do you think of the Hearthkyn and their statline? Where would you rank them?
