Para Bellum Games is coming out strong with their upcoming releases. Check out the ner First Blood starter box!

Not familiar with Conquest? Conquest is a mass battle, rank and file wargame with a ruleset by Alessio Cavatore – who worked on Warhammer Fantasy and is the head designer for Riverhorse. There are multiple factions and each offers its own unique fluff, play style, and look. It also has rich lore behind it.

Para Bellum describes it as easy to pick up, but complex and challenging to master. Instead of traditional player turns and deployment, it uses a command stack mechanic. Each player determines the order of troop activation at the start of each turn, and different types of troops – light, medium, and heavy – have their own roles in battle thanks to a unique escalation reinforcement mechanic. Lead your forces to victory using strategy and foresight.

Parabellum Games Starter Box

First up, and most exciting is a brand two-player new starter set for First Blood! This time the Old Dominion takes on the W’adrhŭn! For those who don’t know, the W’adrhŭn are the powerful Orc equivalents in Conquest while the Old Dominion are the brand new Undead faction in the game. The starter set is aimed at the skirmish game Conquest: First Blood, but if you expand the collection, you can use these same very figures in Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings.

It is worth noting that this starter set is for the new second edition ruleset of the game. It even comes with two rulebooks. How cool is that! Looks like an awesome starter set to me that I would love to get my hands on.

For those that want to try this box out, Para Bellum Games to preview this brand new game at GenCon in August. The worldwide release of the set will be after that.

New Bone Golems

Check these guys out! I love the look of these models. They look like undead dreadnaughts! I wonder how they will measure up versus a Space Marine. Conquest Minis run on the big side of things, so I think that is a very interesting question.

Here is some artwork of a Bone Golem near one of the Old Dominion leaders. Looks so cool!

Let’s look at another image from Para Bellum of these minis. How neat is that, and so many skulls! These minis are on pre-order now and should be released in July of 2022.
