D&D court is now in session unless anybody goes green; this week we’re playing Dungeons & Dragons with She-Hulk.

The latest addition to the MCU is the She-Hulk series, streaming weekly on Disney+. And while it’s not without its criticisms, I’m enjoying it so far and am excited to see what they do with the character. But you’re not here for a review, you’re here to see what I do with the character in a Dungeons &Dragons setting. So without further ado, let’s add Jennifer Walters into the mix in our next D&D adventure. We’re playing D&D with…

She-Hulk

I don’t often have an excuse to get creative with character races. After all, so many characters we work with are human and have their normal-human-ness act as a core aspect of their character. And yes, Jennifer Walters is human, but she’s also a Hulk and that comes with some perks and aesthetics I’d like to play with.

For She-Hulk, I briefly thought about going with Goliath. They also have the height and strength boosts I’d want. But Half-Orc felt more on brand. It works for Jennifer as a half-human-half-Hulk, and it works for what feels like a half-measure taken by Disney. I know she’s never as big as Bruce, but it feels like they scaled She-Hulk down a little more than they had to. And luckily Half-Orc also has the strength and height- though not quite as much height as Goliath. Plus, y’know, green.

From there we got to have a little fun. If we were making a classic Hulk, this would be an easy case of Barbarian. Hulk smash and all that. But She-Hulk is a little smaller, more nimble, and always in control of herself, even when she’s big and green. We’re still looking at a lot of punching, but there’s more finesse to it.

She still has a few levels of Barbarian, but she also has a few levels in Monk, too. Ki may not sound synonymous with a Hulk, but Deflecting Missiles and Unarmored Movement sure do. And honestly, with all of that mindfulness and yoga, I think that “Smart Hulk” may also have a few levels in Monk. And maybe Artificer.

Unfortunately, duel classing Monk and Barbarian isn’t easy. You need high strength, high dexterity, and high wisdom. So we used all of the Ability Score Improvements that the Player’s Handbook would throw at us. Even without them though, I rolled pretty darn well on this one. Aside from those core stats, Jennifer isn’t a character who can have true dump stats. She’s a part-time Hulk and part-time top-of-her-field attorney, so the physical and mental stats all have to be pretty darn good.

Once again, I’ve made a character with no weapons. And you can add some if you’d like. But a Monk-Barbarian is going to be one of the few times where their unarmed strike may be best on its own. Especially with all of the speed, bonus rage damages, and extra attacks, that this class will give you.

How would you make She-Hulk for D&D? How about her cousin? What movie, show, game, or comic should I make sheets from next time? Let us know in the comments!

Happy Adventuring!
