The pieces are in place. Total War’s biggest campaign yet is yours to conquer, if you can. Get ready for the Immortal Empires beta.

Total War: Warhammer 3 update 2.0 is here at last, and with it? The Immortal Empires Beta. Although for a beta, it’s actually quite polished and ready to play. The devs do want your help fine tuning everything though.

But, this massive update brings new regiments of renown, new rules, and of course, the vaunted Immortal Empires. A single amalgamation of the entire Old World (with some exceptions). The biggest campaign map you’ve seen yet. Total War: Warhammer 3’s Immortal Empires brings together the maps from TW: WH 1 & 2 & 3.  All factions. All party, all the time.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Update 2.0 – Immortal Empires Beta

But in addition to Immortal Empires, which we’ve long been waiting for, and talking about, Update 2.0 brings many changes. There are improvements to nearly every aspect of the game. From enemy AI to campaign play.

All those little nitpicky complaints that can add up have been addressed. Or at least acknowledged with the improvements.

And your old pals from Warhammers 1 & 2 have gotten some revamping and love from the devs, making them ready for Warhammer 3’s gameplay. Here’s a small taste of some of the improvements in the game now:

  • Daemon factions will no longer automatically declare war on non-Daemon factions
  • Alongside Attack and Defend requests, you can now ask Allies to Occupy settlements (including colonising ruins)
  • We’ve rebalanced Confederation, so it’s harder to confederate minor factions but easier to confederate major ones
  • We’ve completely overhauled the front-end and faction-select UI for improved usability
  • On the Battle side, we’ve improved the Battle AI’s capture-point behaviour, its target priority regarding barricades and enemy units, and the effectiveness of its melee and ranged-unit positioning
  • We’ve adjusted reload-time reductions for ranged units so they’re easier to understand and don’t scale to the point where stacked reload-reduction buffs make ranged units overperform outrageously
  • Most WARHAMMER I and II factions have undergone some level of overhauling for Immortal Empires—some to a lesser and some to a greater extent—with years of tweaks and balance ahead for the game mode!

Check it out now!
