It’s time for the Hungry, Hungry Ogors to bring the feast. Come take a look a the Ogor Mawtribes Table of Contents!

The Ogor Mawtribes are up next to get a Battletome after the Disciples of Tzeentch and Lumineth Realm-lords get their books. They are going to be followed by the Sons of Behemat so expect a whole lot of destruction beef heading your way this Autumn! With that said, we’re looking forward to what the Ogors are going to bring to the tabletop. We got a look at their upcoming character the Bloodpelt Hunter and want more.

According to GW:

“The Bloodpelt Hunter is a curious ogor – while most of his fellows immediately eat their prey and leave only marrow-sucked bones behind, he keeps whole body parts intact, preserved and strung about his person as trophies.”

So are we going to see more from the Ogor Mawtribes? Well now we have a pretty good idea what’s coming with their new Battletome:

via Warhammer Community

“Whether carving up the realms in eccentric circular hunts known as Mawpaths, or fleeing from the gnawing supernatural bite of the Everwinter, all Ogors share a handful of things in common – brute strength, a knack for building tools of war, an endless hunger, and… heinous halitosis.”

The Table of Contents confirms what’s in the book. From the looks of things don’t expect a ton of new units heading your way for the Ogor Mawtribes. The Bloodpelt Hunter is really the main change. There is also the addition of the Underworlds Warband Blackpowder’s Buccaneers.

But don’t fret — I’m betting the Ogors are getting some rules tweaks in the new Battletome that should make them even more intimidating to play against. There’s six Mawtribes each with their own special rules to play with. GW did tease a few trick those Mawtribes will have, too:

“New battle traits unlock army construction options, while individual Mawtribes define your horde. Field ranks of extra powerful cannon-wielding Leadbelchers as the Underguts Mawtribe, or imbue your Mournfang Packs with unnatural swiftness with the Thunderbellies Mawtribe.”

And naturally there’s all the “battle traits, command traits, artefacts,” and more in the book as well. You’ll get your own spell lores and prayers, too. And of course let’s not forget about the mighty Kragnos coming in the book!

I’m curious to see if he’s getting a reprint of his rules or a full update in the Ogor Mawtribes book. Either way, he’s going to be a strong choice to ally in your Ogor lists! Might makes right to them and there are few that are mightier (and thus rightier) than Kragnos.

On one hand it’s a little bit of a bummer to not see a bunch of new units for the Ogors. On the other hand, I’m betting they are going to get a lot of fun new rules to try out. It seems like this cycle of Battletomes is going that route where they are basically coming in pairs and both books are getting at least 1 new character to add and a whole lot of rules. Occasionally, there’s a bunch of new models added — but if that happens it’s just the one army. And we know what’s coming for the Sons of Behemat.
