It takes a special gargant to become king, and Brodd fills the massive sandals with ease. Maybe we should call him Broddzilla instead.

The Sons of Behemat battletome is up for preorder, and while it’s mostly the same, we’re getting a look at a brand new breed of gargant; the Beast-Smasher. Leading the charge is the greatest of all Beast-Smashers and the strongest gargant alive, King Brodd. In addition to being powerful, he imposes his will over his fellows with proof of his divine favor, and he’s going to make Sons of Behemat armies even nastier than they were before.

Powerful Attacks

As with most Destruction armies, Sons of Behemat choose their leaders by show of strength. As King of the gargants, Brodd has strength enough to spare, and he’s going to be an absolute terror on the battlefield. He has a whopping 40 wounds, meaning he’s going to be extremely hard to shift, and even attacks that should kill him outright only deal mortal wounds. When it’s his turn, he can hammer back with a powerful suite of attacks, maxing out at 32 damage, and that’s not counting the myriad of special abilities he has to deal even more damage. Might makes right in Ghur, and they don’t get much mightier than him.

Monster Slayer

As you’d expect from a Beast-Smasher, King Brodd is adept at removing enemy monsters. In addition to all the usual anti-monster tech that Mega-gargants have, Brodd can shut down their monstrous rampage with an angry shout of his own, locking them out of rampages on a 2+ at full health! Even at his weakest he can still stop it, but it deteriorates as he does, all the way down to a 5+. Still, that’s a nasty ability, and one that will make him the premiere monster slayer for Destruction forces.

Mage Adjacent

Strength isn’t the only thing that proves Brodd is the king of the monsters; he also has the eye of Behemat on his side. He counts as a priest, and he has a gnarly prayer that buffs the strength of his fellow gargants’ weapons. And if he’s killed any monsters, the prayer goes off on a 2+, so once the Brodd ball starts rolling, it’s wicked hard to stop.

Will you be adding Brodd to your Sons army?
