Age of Sigmar: Wish on Hysh – Three Things I Hope to See in the Lumineth Battletome

As a follower of Tzeentch, my precognition SHOULD be pretty good; let’s see if I’m right about the next Lumineth Battletome.

The boys from Hysh are back this weekend, the next in a long line of updated battletomes. Their last incarnation was pretty powerful, giving us the fastest monster in the game and a glimpse at two of the four Aelementari spirits. Games Workshop has done a great job with the 3.0 battletomes for the most part, so I have high hopes for the shiny Aelf book. Here are three things I hope we see in the Lumineth tome that I don’t think are TOO off the mark.

More Aelementari Emphasis

While the Lumineth have always been strong individually, they can quickly fall short if you don’t focus on their in-built synergy. This is particularly true with the Alarith and Hurakan warriors, who can easily be played around if you don’t play them exclusively. However, the current book doesn’t really offer enough incentive to limit yourself that much. I’d love to see the new book give players a reason to pick an Aspect beyond balance, like better artefacts or command traits. I’m particularly fond of the Hurakan, so those are the ones I really want to see updated, but the Alarith deserve it as well. And speaking of the Aelementari…

The Other Two Spirits

We’ve have the Alarith of the earth and the Hurakan of the wind, but what about fire and water? We’ve heard some of the lore surrounding these spirits, but we haven’t seen any confirmation of their fighting prowess. While I originally theorized that we’d see them in a Tyrionic Lumineth book, that doesn’t seem like something we’ll ever see, so I’m hoping we’ll see them in the book. The fire spirits could be in the form of birds reminiscent of the old phoenix, and the water spirits could be horses to represent the charge of a river. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see if Teclis goes full Avatar (the airbender kind, not the blue ones).

More Reliable Spellcasting

Teclis is the greatest mage in the Realms (according to him) so his followers should follow suit. His ability to autocast spells is extremely powerful, but I’d love to see some version of that on one of his lesser warriors, albeit a diminished one. Even if it’s just the Scinari, the ones meant to be the finest mages, I want to see that Teclis has ACTUALLY grown and isn’t keeping all the power for himself.

What do you hope to see in the Lumineth Battletome?
