Goatboy here. I have an idea to dust off those lonely Chaos Daemons Soulgrinders and kick some booty on the tabletop.

We’ll talk more about Votann once all the models come out and I really wrap my head around a Zerker style list.  I think that one could have some legs as it lot of the Judgement stuff is less of an issue and it is all about smashing face.  Also – let’s see what happens with the balance bit coming I am sure after Chicago or after the GW KC event (which I am going to so say hi if you are going too).  Today’s list thought is due to me finding my Soul Grinders sitting on the shelf and wondering – can we fit 3 with as many other big smashers as we can?

Be’lakor – The other big question is what big smashers do I use and how do I keep the main man/monster – Be’lakor alive long enough to warp Locus some nonsense on the tabletop.  I think there will be some play of floating around the edges. Figuring out what is a problem, and then teleporting up and dropping the pain of big mechanical idiots into their lines.  It might not work. But it should slow it down enough to cause some issues.  Heck slowing anyone down is the whole point of this game.

Lord of Change – The other big monsters really are dependent on figuring out ways to have another “target” that is hard to deal with.  I keep thinking about the Lord of Change set up to be the Warlord with a -1 to wound and -1 to hit.  Then throw in their fancy robe and you get a model that can sit all the way back, move out as needed, and survive a bit longer.  The other issue from there is what other big monster as you end up running out of points pretty quickly due to Troops and other hard things to add in.  I keep wanting to get Skarbrand in there as he is another really mean cruise missile of death to throw out there.  He keeps armies locked down and could let the Grinders get to Grindering down on the enemy.

Let’s throw these all together for the last Daemon list for awhile as I look to different books and figure out other weird things to throw on the table top.

Chaos Daemons Soul Grinders Tactics & Tips

This is a pretty simple list you keep your two bigs alive with Bloodletters on the board hiding.  Your grinders, Skarbrand, and Flamers should be able to sit in the warp till you need them to come down and get to work.  The Bloodletters can hide and eventually you start to teleport them around – especially after Skarbrand hits the table.  Of course – this  could all not work and your just left with a smoking crater of Daemons crying softly in the warp. Your mileage may vary.
