Zombie tales are a cinema classic, but some of the best living dead moments come from the pages of these comic books…

Zombies are horror classics for a reason – after all, what’s more terrifying? The scores of the undead hungry for your flesh or other humans, desperate and afraid? Do you love stories about mindless hunger vs. the need to survive at any cost? If you’re a zombie-lover, you’ve got to read these comic books.

As always, we know that digital comics are very convenient. But if you see something you absolutely need to own in the meatspace, be sure to head to your local comic book shop!

The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, & Charlie Adlard

Rick Grimes is not prepared for this. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family he must now sort through the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son.

iZombie by Chris Roberson & Mike Allred

Told from a female zombie’s perspective, IZOMBIE is a smart, witty detective series with a mix of urban fantasy and romantic dramedy. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Dylan is a 20-something gravedigger in an eco-friendly cemetery. Once a month she must eat a human brain to keep from losing her memories, but in the process, she becomes consumed with the thoughts and personality of the dead person until she eats the next brain. She sets out to fulfill the dead person’s last request, solve a crime, or right a wrong.


Marvel Zombies by Robert Kirkman & More

On an Earth shockingly similar to the Marvel Universe, an alien virus has infected all of the world greatest super heroes into flesh eating monsters!
