Warcry: New Chameleon Skinks Spotted In The Ruins

There’s a new hatch of Skinks guarding the ruins in Gnarlwood and by the time you see the Chameleon Skinks it might be too late.

The warbands heading into the Gnarlwood are after the technology of a crashed Seraphon void-ship. However, the ruins aren’t exactly empty. There are some defenders that are among the ruins and they aren’t to be taken lightly.

“A mighty void-ship like the Eye of Chotec – the name by which the Seraphon know Talaxis – would usually be protected by powerful saurus warriors. Yet few of the wrecked vessel’s gestation chambers remain intact, and many are riddled with malfunctions, creating feral spawn who spill into the jungle beyond.

It now falls to nimble Chameleon Skinks to harry invading warbands with stealth and guile.”

These Skinks are “shadow-touched” and are quite sneaky. They often fight in perfectly coordinated packs who pepper their targets with poisons. Spotting them means you’re about to be shot by those blow darts.

“Concealed by natural camouflage, these stranded hunters pincushion their foes with hallucinogenic poison darts from the cover of tree and vine. Poor souls under the influence of these drugged darts often end up giddily capering into the rending limbs of Gnarloaks, or taking fatal plunges into greedy swamps that can gulp down a Fomoroid Crusher without a trace.”

That is certainly one way to go in the Gnarlwood. Skinks aren’t typically known for their close combat prowess. However, if they can dart you up with drugs, they’ll just let the jungle take it from there. I’m expecting to see more than a few of these Skinks available in a single warband, too.

The current season of Warcry is out now — get ready for the Skink ambush coming soon!
