WizKids unveiled a new line of cinematic miniatures based on the upcoming D&D movie. Check out these Honor Among Thieves Miniatures.

A long time ago, in a galaxy very, very, very, very far away, Spaceballs taught us that the most powerful force in the universe was Merchandising.

And when you’re launching a media empire, merchandising is at the heart of it all. The jury’s still out on whether or not we’ll see any official D&D cereal. But WizKids unveiled a new miniature boxed set today. Based on the upcoming D&D movie, the Honor Among Thieves miniatures bring to your tabletop, monsters straight from D&D’s latest big-screen outing.

WizKids’ New Honor Among Thieves Miniatures

These Honor Among Thieves miniatures are collected in a single boxed set. This set gathers together pre-painted miniatures of iconic D&D monsters. You’ll find an Owlbear, Mimic, Gelatinous Cube, Displacer Beast, and a surprise “mystery monster” that remains, as yet, unseen.

Each one of these miniatures reflects its movie counterpart. Which is why we have a snowy owlbear here. It rears up, ready to strike — though technically this owlbear is a transformed Druid. Seen in the trailer, here.

Just absolutely terrifying. But not nearly as much as the ironically more “lifelike” mimic?

I guess, really it’s more of a distinctive style. It’s missing the traditional red eyes of a Monster Manual mimic. But that doesn’t make it any less deadly.

Just more weirdly organic.

And then we have the displacer beast, looking very panther-like and probably actually standing a few feet from where it is. Though no mini has yet to actually replicate that particular displacer beast defense.

What they have done, is nail the gelatinous cube. This one is particularly great because it comes with adventurers already in its body.

And sure, in this sequence, these heroes dove in to escape a displacer beast. But you could use these for any hapless heroes.

Look for these minis to release alongside the D&D Movie!
