Wolverine is back with a new sculpt and some new tricks. The man named Logan is on the hunt in Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

Fans of Marvel: Crisis Protocol will undoubtedly know who Wolverine is already. But now Atomic Mass Games is bringing in an alternate version of James Logan Howlett to the tabletop with some new rules to match.

“His is a tale as old as time. Or at least a tale as old as illicit bio-weapons programs. James Logan Howlett has been many people. First, a young mutant with a healing factor and bone claws, living a feral life of blood. Then, an enormously unwilling subject in the Weapon X Program’s vile experiments. From there he became an amnesiac escapee on the run, lost and confused, before ending up as a beloved member of Xavier’s X-Men. But the ties between these many identities are blurry, and the puzzle pieces of the past don’t quite fit together. This version of Wolverine is one looking for answers to long-dead questions. With a bike, a hat, and a nasty habit for cigars, Logan intends to find the truth… or die trying.”

Kicking things off, his stats aren’t too entirely different from his previous incarnation – although they are different. His stamina is now 6/6 instead of the previous 7/5. His defenses are also slightly better in this version with a 4/4/2 instead of 4/3/2. Again, little tweaks but worth noting. That said, his skill set is very different than his X-Men version.

He’s still got the Healing Factor [2] and Immunity [Stun] going for him. His Adamantium Skeleton is also just as sturdy as before. But his basic attack is now X-Slash. It’s got a range 3 instead of 2 and trades out the Wild:Bleed effect for a movement boost helping Logan get in close. Tornado Claw also replaces Berserker Barrage entirely.  This new power is a Beam attack that allow him to really slice up everyone in a line. Plus he ends his move within range 1 of his final target. It costs 1 more power to use but it’s an impressive attack.

Logan’s What I Do Isn’t Very Nice is a nice nod to his previous card, too. Functionally, it’s different but you still get to pull off the X-Slash attack. This one also adds a throw. He also has two new powers that change up his gameplay. Get out of my Head! is a double edged sword. If he takes psychic damage he damages allies who are within range 3. However, they do get an energy for their troubles.

On The Hunt is the final new ability and it gives Logan the option to reroll 2 of his attack dice as long as he’s range 3 away from allies. It’s almost like he’s a lone wolf or something…

Logan, the Wolverine is coming in a new Rivals Panel box which also features Sabertooth and some very cool looking terrain. It’s current up for Pre-order right now.

The famous rivalry between two of the deadliest weapons to emerge from the Weapon X Program hits the tabletop with this new pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! Logan once counted Sabretooth among his few friends as the pair fought beside one another on a covert team, but Sabretooth’s unslakeable bloodlust tore the team apart, and now they face off as bitter rivals. Featuring beautifully sculpted new miniatures of Logan and Sabretooth, this pack adds new versions of these iconic characters to players’ rosters and introduces the new Weapon X Program Affiliation to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Additionally, players will also find 6 Team Tactic cards that further enhance Logan and Sabretooth’s abilities as well as several props that allow players to customize their bases.
