Agent Venom is coming the Marvel: Crisis Protocol line-up. Let’s find out what this super-powered secret agent bring to the game!

Hey, remember Flash Thompson from Spider-man? Yeah, you remember…the high school bully guy. Well, even those jerks can grow-up and become something better later in life. Flash Thompson decided to join the military after college. He ended up losing his legs in the line of duty — but the US government offered him a second chance to serve. How? By combining him with the Venom symbiote. He then went off to have some pretty wild space adventures in the cosmos. Fun times.

If that doesn’t make a ton of sense, well, welcome to comics. ANYHOW, Agent Venom is making his debut on the tabletop in M:CP. Atomic Mass Games has unleashed his card and model on us so let’s take a look at what he can do!

“Agent Venom swings into the game with a tasty combination of Klyntar symbiote powers and heavy ordinance… it’s like chocolate and peanut butter!”

Have you ever wondered what Venom would be like if he used guns? Because Agent Venom totally uses guns. Starting off we have Klyntar Firepower which is Agent Venom’s standard attack. It’s range 4 with a base of 5 strength. And like most basic attacks you gain power based on the damage it does. Plus, it also has a chance at causing a bleed effect on the target.

His next attack is Incendiary Grenade. It’s range 3 and also strength 5 and will cost you 1 power, but it sets the target on fire with the Incinerate special condition. Hey, I thought Venom didn’t like fire or sonic attacks…wouldn’t this be both? I mean, I guess it’s okay if he’s the one causing both the fire and the sound.

Agent Venom’s third attack is the Symbiote Special Forces attack which is a Beam3 and strength 7. It’s got a cost of 4 power though. Thankfully, it’s got some cool secondary effects to tack on. The Lashing Tendrils are a cool way to add some extra damage to folks around Agent Venom.

Naturally, Agent Venom also has some web swinging options and wallcrawling thanks to his origins as a spider villain. He’s got a bit of regeneration via Project Rebirth 2.0 as it removes special conditions from him. Also, Flash’s natural talent gets to shine a bit with his option to throw objects via All-Star Quarterback. And the final boost is Symbiotic Instincts which help to make sure his attacks land.

Agent Venom seems like a pretty cool addition to the game. Because of his background he can also team up with the other Web Warriors, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Guardians of the Galaxy. He’s a fun fit for any of those rosters for sure! He’s currently up for Pre-orders along with Spider-Woman in a combo box.
