Phyrexia: All Will Be One‘s latest batch of Black spoilers reveals that Toxic is back. Poison counters are here in a big way.

Do you like poison counters? How about causing creatures to take various penalties to both their power and toughness? What about just causing your opponent to lose life right off the dome?

All that and more awaits you in the latest batch of All Will Be One Black spoilers. Toxic is back in a big way. Which is going to be very spicy in Commander games. How much can you trust your friends? Only one way to find out.

Phyrexia: All Will Be One – Black Spoilers

We start with Black’s main tools in All Will Be One. Poison counters, which we can see in the form of the various creatures afflicted with Toxic. The Blightbelly Rat and Bilious Skulldweller can show how you can build poison counters up real quick if left unchecked.

And on top of that, cards that play with poison counters with the Corrupted mechanic. Like Anoint with Affliction.

Black will really come alive once an opponent has three or more poison counters. The Corrupted mechanic really comes into play. The BOnepicker Skirge, Chittering Skitterling, Fleshless Gladiators, and even Feed the Infection all get better with poison. This is one of the key win conditions available to the set. But on top of that, there’s plenty of small creatures who can get in and do chip damage.

But if you can get out Karumonix the Rat King, you’ll make a rat deck absolutely go off.

That’s barely touching on lack’s other big play, which is encouraging sacrifices. Whether it’s sacrificing your own cards or causing your opponents to sacrifice theirs, there’s plenty of ways to get cards into graveyards in Black in this set.

Finally, there’s a look at Vraska, who managed to corrupt Jace into a Phyrexian. She is Compleated, which means she’s all about that Phyrexian mana, as well as Proliferating. And remember, Proliferate works on Planeswalkers too, so the more you can proliferate, the faster you can ult an opponent up to 9 poison counters.
