One list went all the way at the Las Vegas Open. Let’s take a look at who took home the crown – 40K’s latest Unbeatable List.

Goatboy here writing from LVO 2023 brought to you by the fine folks at Frontline Gaming.  It was a great event this year (went 4-2 with two close losses) and this year we have a two-fer. Both the ITC and LVO were both won by Jack Harpster from the Art of War crew. Jack was piloting a very powerful Blood Angels army in the Nephlim/ Armor of Contempt environment the LVO was playing with.  It was an excellent list designed to hurt Thousand Sons + Flamers lists.

Of course with it being piloted by and excellent general it is going to do very well – but here is the list for those to read over.

Blood Angels – Jack Harpster

How the List Works

As you can see this is a basic Blood Angels list in the common design from Nephlim era.  A ton of Sanguinary Guard who love to sit in cover with a +2 to their saves and just a ton of attacks that can murder you back.  On top of that the army can passively score points too. This makes it rough to remove from the tabletop.  Remember this Meta would be dominated by Flamers and 2+ with AoC and cover ignore their damage with a ton of 2+ saves.

Overall this was a great list for Nephlim and one of the armies I thought would do well – especially in the hands of Jack.  He took on Sean Nayden and his Ork list in the finals where the Orks have a really hard time trying to chew thru Sanguinary Guard.  Just a great time to see a Marine army take the top and give the overall ITC win to Jack.

Thanks again for all those that said hi to me and all my fantastic opponents from over the weekend.  I killed a lot of Greater Daemons this weekend and sent Be’Lakor back to the warp a few times.  If you are interested in Competitive 40K I would seriously check out one of the FLG events, upcoming GW Events, and any local event you have especially with the new bananas Arks of Omen meta that will be coming.

By the Blood of Sanguinius!
