‘Dead by Daylight’ Adds New Tech CEO Killer in Upcoming DLC
Dead by Daylight adds a brand new tech-wielding killer and a couple of survivors in a new DLC.
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game that came out in 2016. The game was developed by Behaviour Interactive inspired by slasher movies. Players play as 4 survivors who have to work together to get away from a killer controlled by another player. All the maps are procedurally generated with dozens of different locations, so teamwork is key to surviving.
Meanwhile, the killers have to rely on their different skills to get a hold of the survivor players and win. The game for many is the pinnacle of the idea of asymmetric games since Fortnite. And it’s constantly getting updated. The game started with seven original characters – three killers and four survivors.
Dead by Daylight has since been updated over the years with original and licensed characters for both survivors and killers. It’s commonplace to see Ash from the Evil Dead series or Steve Harrington from Stranger Things trying to survive an attack from Michael Myers from Halloween or Ghost Face from Scream.
It makes for some very fun matches between friends and strangers. It’s also a blast to watch streaming on Twitch. The current survivor count is a whopping 34 survivors and 30 killers. And it seems the game is going to add a few more characters next month.
Tools of Torment
Behaviour Interactive released a trailer for a brand new DLC that is set to release on March 7th called Tools of Torment. The DLC is adding a brand new original killer named Adriana Imai who goes by the name “The Skull Merchant.” A self-made Brazilian millionaire who buys and guts companies found herself not satisfied with just slaying companies anymore.
She became a fierce killer using technology to stalk and slay her victims. She also wields a pair of blades on her arm. The Skull Merchant will also have drones she can use to locate the survivors. She is considered a “Hard” level character to use thanks to her more tech-based moves.
The DLC is also bringing two brand-new survivors. A brother and sister duo named Thalita and Renato Lyra were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The two siblings were flying kites and downed a drone. When they went to investigate it, they accidentally caught the Skull Merchant in the middle of a kill. Now they’ll have to fight for their lives to escape Adriana, who doesn’t want any witnesses alive. Both survivors will have the same perks, so it might be good to mix and match with the other players.
Dead By Daylight continues to be a popular powerhouse in multiplayer gaming and doesn’t seem like it is going slow down anytime soon. The game is out now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and PC.
