No mourners, no funerals. This week we’re inviting everybody’s real favorite characters from Shadow and Bone to play some D&D.

It feels like everyone is in agreement that the best characters in Shadow and Bone aren’t the character the show is supposed to be about or even the primary antagonist. Instead, everybody’s favorite characters seems to be The Crows. And while their ranks grew this season, their general likeability has not wavered at all. Honestly, I’m watching for the gang who claim to run the streets but can’t seem to catch a break and I’d like to invite them to play some D&D. Luckily, these are a few characters who would fit in perfectly in most of our D&D adventures. This week we’re playing D&D with The Crows.

Jesper Fahey

We’ve probably all played D&D with somebody a little too like Jesper. You know the type. Real high charisma score, probably isn’t taking the game or the mission very seriously and is easily distracted, yet the dice refuse to let them fail no matter what they do? Luckily, they’re also pretty likable so you usually let them get away with it.

As the resident sharpshooter in the group, Jesper is the perfect Gunslinger Fighter. But just to be sure I gave him the gunner and Sharpshooter feats as well. Why make a character who’s pretty good at a skill, when you can make a character who has every possibility to remove hurdles and add advantages?

And of course, he has a pretty high Charisma. Because he’ll be off meeting a lot of NPCs.

Inej Ghafa

Inej is also fairly straightforward as a Rogue Assassin. Again, it’s literally her job within the scope of the show. But she has many, many skills that would be helpful in a Grishaverse adventure or D&D campaign alike, so we had to be sure as many of them made it onto this sheet as possible.

We had to be sure she had access to some throwing weapons. Daggers and darts are both great for throwing at enemies. But Inej is also a quick, precise, mobile, and a literal acrobat. So I made sure she had extra boosts in Acrobatics and Athletics. Sure, she can throw a knife at somebody. But she can also get up and over them at a moment’s notice, too. And sometimes the most important tool at a rogue’s disposal is the ability to quickly get away.

If I had one more feat to give Inej though, it would be Piercer. Knives don’t always do a ton of damage on their own, so adding any advantage to their piercing damage could help this sheet out greatly.

I didn’t make Kaz (or this season’s new recruits), and that was entirely a matter of time. Should I come back and make the rest of the Crows in the future? What do you think of season two? What movie, book, game, or show should I make sheets from next? Let us know in the comments!

Happy adventuring!
