Boruto‘s Part 1 may be wrapping up, and his show going on a break, but Naruto is back with four brand new episodes!

There’s been a lot of movement in the Naruto universe this week as two different show shake-ups have been announcement have been made back to back. Here’s what fans of the popular ninja series expect in the coming weeks; believe it!

Boruto

Boruto: The Next Generation is the continuation of the Naturo storyline. It follows the stories of the children of the original Naruto series as they grow up and have their own adventures. And just like its parent series, it has a whole lot of episodes and at least a little filler. This hasn’t stopped it from being pretty darn popular in its own right, though. After all, the series takes place in a fun universe full of ninjas with interesting powers.

But it looks like the Boruto bus might be taking a break, and we don’t know how long the break is going to be.

Creators of the show confirmed this week that Boruto‘s first part would be coming to its conclusion on March 26th of this year with episode 293. Part two has already been announced and is currently in production. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no confirmed release date or even season.

In short, Boruto is wrapping up for the moment and going on a break. But it will be back at some point.

Naruto

In almost completely opposite news, Naruto is coming back! Temporarily!

To celebrate the show’s twentieth anniversary, four brand new episodes are coming. Set during the time period of the show’s original run, the new Naruto episodes are scheduled to air in September 2023.

So far, we don’t have exact release dates, appearing characters, cast, plot, or any other specific information about these anniversary episodes. But the four episodes will likely come out weekly throughout the month or all at once. If I were to guess, I’d say this will be one continuous story or the sort of episodes you can line up back to back and watch as a movie.

About Naruto

Based on the Manga series by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto aired from 2002 through 2007 before being followed up by the direct sequel series Naruto: Shippuden. Shippuden, in turn, ran for another ten years, wrapping up in March 2017. Boruto: Next Generation began immediately after, airing in April 2017.

The original series followed the title character, Naruto, a young ninja who dreams of being recognized by his peers and one day becoming the leader of his village. It’s a show that goes from goofy to heartfelt and back. But it’s also infamous in the anime world for its sheer number of filler episodes.

Despite the filler, though, Naruto has consistently been one of the most well-known and most popular shows in the genre. Even if you’ve never seen an episode yourself, you know about Naruto.

What do you think the four brand-new Naruto episodes will be about? Which is your favorite Naruto series or story arc?  Be honest, did you ever skip filler episodes? Let us know in the comments!

Ja ne, adventurers!
