‘Scott Pilgrim: The Anime’ Reassembles the Movie’s Entire Cast
Scott Pilgrim The Anime is coming to Netflix – the voice cast includes Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and more!
Scott Pilgrim, Ramona, and her exes are returning to the screen – Netflix has announced that a new anime based on the graphic novels is on the way. And it’s got an amazing team attached. Edgar Wright and Bryan Lee O’Malley (who wrote the graphic novels) are executive producers. Science Saru is handling the animation, and Wright has hinted that Anamanaguchi will create the soundtrack.
This is already shaping up to be pretty dang awesome – but that’s not all. Wright gave more details…
“One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim. Since the film’s release in 2010 we’ve done Q&A’s, remembrances and charity read throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project until now. Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski, have conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim that doesn’t just expand the universe, but also…well, just watch it. I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”
You read that right – the cast of the 2010 movie will be voicing the animated series.
Netflix didn’t share production details or a release window. I’d estimate next year, but no one knows for sure. While we all await more information, grab some tea and revisit the source material.
