Coming March 28th, D&D Direct, a 30-minute look at the coming year for Dungeons & Dragons. Cards, giants, and more surely await.

Next week D&D will be pulling off their own version of a Nintendo Direct. Titled D&D Direct, the 30-minute long show will feature “exclusive reveals” of upcoming titles, and, much like the Nintendo Direct will feature no news about Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The event will, presumably, focus on the previously announced titles. Spoiler alert, we already know what’s coming throughout the rest of the year. You can expect to catch a glimpse of Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, Phandelver Campaign, The Book of Many Things, and of course, Planescape. All of these have been teased so far. But hey, video presentations are where all the hype is at, and after the fumbling of the OGL at the beginning of the year, anything to start resetting goodwill will do.

D&D Direct – No New Metroid Either

Tune in to watch a jam-packed 30-minute video presentation to see exclusive reveals from Wizards of the Coast and its partners, including the latest about the World’s Greatest Roleplaying Game along with entertainment tie-ins with the upcoming release of Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, video game reveals, and more, guided by hosts Gina Darling (@MissGinaDarling) and Ify Nwadiwe (@IfyNwadiwe).

This 27-second long video has a few creative easter eggs for eagle-eyed viewers.

Some are… much more literal than others. Like this comet streaking across a literal egg about to hatch. You might also catch a sheet of music, a cluster of potatoes, and a suspiciously toroidal ring of smoke hanging up above a teacup, surely reminiscent of Sigil, City of Doors.

Of course, that said, last year’s D&D Direct unveiled both Dragonlance and Spelljammer for the first time ever. And the hype parade marched out strongly to mixed results in the end. Spelljammer was, sadly, a little light on the setting, mechanics, and anything beyond a few pages of fluff and some stat blocks for ships.

While Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen was a fantastic adventure that had a companion board game that felt it needed a little more time in the oven. At any rate, next Tuesday will confirm some details about the coming adventures. All of which you’ll get to see soon enough. So check back for more!

Until then, it’s time to realize that there’s probably not going to be a new Mario reveal at D&D Direct either.
