Or at least from the new 10th Edition cinematic. Meet the new Tyranid slaying Lieutenant coming to a tabletop near you!

Sometimes you just need to get up close and personal with the enemy and this Space Marine Lieutenant has all the tools to do just that.

“These new Lieutenants are expert assassins and skilled intelligence gatherers – they blend into the jungle (or desert, tundra, or wherever else they’re fighting), and get behind the lines and inside their enemy’s minds. In fact, they’re so efficient by the time the main Space Marines force arrives, the Lieutenants often have their feet up with a cup of tea, the war having been already won.”

Hey — that’s not a standard issue shoulder pauldron! This Tyrannic War Vet has some nasty tricks on his sleeves. And by “nasty tricks” I mean makeshift replacement armor made from Tyranid chitin.

Not only is he sporting a very fancy combi-weapon he’s also got a pair for gnarly close combat knives ready to do some work.

“He takes his cues from classic Tyranid Hunters, including trophies, a three-clawed facial scar, and a combi-flamer – the preferred weapon of a certain Chaplain Cassius.”

I do appreciate all the nods to the previous models and Tyrannic War Veteran models. Also, it’s cool to see this model ripped right from the cinematic for 10th. If you haven’t given that video a good scouring you might want to rewatch it. There’s lots more new models on the way and they just might have been teased already…

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some Tyranid bits to part out. I think I’m going to need to do some Tyrannic War Vets for Blood Angels for a post-Devastation of Baal force…What, you didn’t think the Ultramarines were going to have all the fun, did you?

The 4th Tyrannic War is coming. And the Galaxy will never be the same.
