Lion El’Jonson is returning and that means the Loyalist Primarchs are starting to even the odds. But who will be next?

We were wondering which of the Loyalist Primarchs would return and really narrowed it down to the Big Three: The Lion, The Wolf, or the Angel. Now that we’ve got our answer on that front, we’ve also been wondering if we’d get another Loyalist Primarch before Daemon Prince Primarch Fulgrim gets released.

So now we’re back to square one: Which Primarch is next? We’ve still got some front runners so let’s go over the ones we think are most likely to return.

Daemon Prince Fulgrim

One question we’ve still got is if we’ll see Fulgrim first or another Loyalist Primarch next. Now, a Fulgrim release would make sense alongside an Emperor’s Children update/codex like the World Eaters just got. However, with 10th edition looming, we’re not even sure what the next batch of Codexes will even look like! Even still, we think a Daemon Prince version of Fulgrim returning is on the horizon — we just don’t know when he’ll be arriving.

Leman Russ

Russ has a lot of factors going for him still. He’s been on a tear through the Eye of Terror — so he was never “killed” off. There’s been hints that Magnus (who has a current model) knows his location. Space Wolves are one of the main Space Marine chapters/model ranges as well. So a Leman Russ Primarch model would be perfect for that. That’s why he’s still favoured to return at some point.

Sanguinius

“Wait, isn’t he dead?!” Yes. Yes he is. But this fallen Primarch has something few others have: a body that’s in a known location. Besides, Blood Angels are Space Vampires, right? Just feed him some blood and he’ll be back in no time!

Okay, okay — maybe not. But the fact that there’s a body is big deal. There’s lots of ways he could come back and all it would take is for the Black Library and GW loremasters to decide on how they do it. Could Yvraine be involved? Cloning? The Sanguinor re-infuses into him? Look — they’ve got hundreds of ways they could go with it. I’m calling it now: Sanguinius is coming back at some point.

Perturabo

Perturabo is already a known Daemon Prince Primarch, technically of Chaos Undivided! There’s a chance he could come back as a fifth Chaos Daemon Prince. It would be pretty funny if the Iron Warriors got a new book/army before the Emperor’s Children though and Perturabo led that charge with a new model. I’m here for it!

Lorgar

Lorgar has also ascended to daemonhood. Now, which chaos god did it? That’s actually unclear. If I had to guess, I’d think he’d be Chaos Undivided as well. He’s also been teased as returned as well in the current timeline. Lorgar has been spotted preaching the splendor of Chaos to mortals and has been leading a massive force of Word Bearers around. Wouldn’t that be a fun twist if he showed back up with a new model!

There’s a couple other Primarchs who could show back up, but I’ll let you decide in the comments if you think they would make sense. This is my list of most likely to return — so share yours with the rest of us!

Will it be a third Loyalist or a fourth Daemon Prince Primarch next?
