The latest Gundam series is a little different, and it’s bringing the fandom a lot of joy. Including this Miorine Rembran cosplayer.

If you haven’t checked out the latest Gundam series yet, you should fix that right away. I’m not usually a huge fan of the mobile suite genre, but Witch from Mercury has definitely become a favorite. It’s a show that I’ve been describing as “Utena but with mobile suits.”

Witch From Mercury mixes a little slice-of-life and high-school drama into the mix as the main cast attends a special school for all things mobile suit- some on a pilot track, some as mechanics, others in business management. In other shows, Miorine Rembran would be the typical pretty mean girl. But in Witch From Mercury, she’s great. Sure, she’s a little mean, but she also proves herself to be one of the most capable and intelligent people at school as well as a partner and ally to the main character Suletta.

The designs of the school uniforms in this show are also some of my favorites around. They’re a little futuristic, but not enough to be truly campy and fit the world perfectly. And cosplayer Joysoup brings Miorine to life. Something I’ve noticed about this cosplayer is her ability to pick the perfect locations for shoots every time, and her Miorine cosplay is no exception.

“I’m saying that I’ll fight according to your rules! At least take responsibility for your own decisions! You’re an adult, aren’t you?”

“Nice to meet you, my groom.”

“I’m going to escape here and go to Earth, no matter what. You just have to play my groom until then. Let’s make a deal.”
