Whether summer means resisting the heat, or looking good in not very much, here are five perfect summer armors for your D&D character.

Summer is here, and that means it’s time to update your character. After all, you wouldn’t want to show up to an adventure wearing your winter armor when you ought to be wearing summer gear.

Whether that’s beating the heat (and also fire damage) or finding ways to be absolutely stunning on the beach or in the dungeon, the right magic armor can make all the difference.

Armor of Fire Resistance

Beat the heat in style while wearing Armor of Fire Resistance. Its magical properties mean you’ll take half the damage from fire, and the fact that you have fire resistance means you’re immune to the effects of exposure to hot weather. So you’ll never have to worry about heat exhaustion or anything else.

Not that your table ever uses those rules, but if they did, you’d be safe from them.

Glamoured Studded Leather

Of course, what is the point of wearing armor if it’s just going to make you comfortable? Summer is for showing off. And Glamoured Studded Leather is the perfect way to do that. Not only do you get a +1 bonus to AC, but you also get the ability to spend an action and cause the armor to assume the appearance of clothing or some other kind of armor.

Importantly, you get to decide what it looks like. Every detail is up to you, from color, style, and even illusory accessories. And you can do that as much as you like! So you’ll always have the perfect swimsuit, for instance.

Efreeti Chain

There’s beating the heat and then there’s being completely immune to fire altogether. And that‘s what you get out of Efreeti Chain armor. But the fun doesn’t stop there. When you’re on your adventure vacation to that volcanic island, don’t worry, because Efreeti Chain means you can walk across molten rock as though it were solid ground.

Mariner’s Armor

Nothing says summertime like hitting the ol’ swimming hole. And with Mariner’s Armor, you won’t even have to take your armor off. This means you won’t be vulnerable to whatever horrible aberration is lurking in that placid lake.

In fact, you’ll have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed, and if you’re underwater with 0 hit points, the armor will cause you to rise 60 feet toward the surface of the water. So you’ll be safe, even if you’re knocked out.

Molten Bronze Skin

For that perfect summer tan, though, nothing beats Molten Bronze Skin. You pour this magical molten bronze over your body and it becomes a second skin (one that specifically “doesn’t impede bodily functions”) so you can strut around looking finely bronzed and you’ll get the benefits of wearing Breastplate, Half Plate, or Plate Armor.

What are your favorite summer accessories?
