The Games Workshop Rumor Engine is back with a new sneak peek and something is going on with the meta-narrative once again!

It’s another fantastic Tuesday teaser from Games Workshop’s Rumor Engine. We’re going to do things a little different today though. First let’s talk about the image then we’ll get into the meta-narrative.

Rumor Engine: Beastly Club

So here’s the image and it looks like a large club to me. It’s got a few skulls strapped to it as well. Maybe for some extra weight or hitting power when it comes down on it’s targets. This one feels a lot like something from the Mortal Realms and in particular the Destruction side of the house.

The Ironjawz from the Orruks aren’t afraid to add in some ornamental bones on their gear.

And the Mega and “regular” Gargants of the Sons of Behemat have also been spotted with a few of these “trophy” weapons, too. But I wouldn’t want to rule out the Beast Snagga Boyz from 40k, either.

This is an interesting Rumor Engine for sure – if you’ve got a guess let us know what you think it could be in the comments.

Rumor Engine Meta-Narrative Shift

Now, let’s quickly cover the topic of the Rumor Engine Meta-narrative. It appears GW is switching up from making fun of NFTs to now making fun of AI — or perhaps something else is going on. Either way it’s both topical and funny/creepy.

Here’s what it says:

It follows up that text with more and it’s basically telling us to “act natural” so that the “keepers” don’t catch on. This isn’t the first time that GW has alluded to the Rumor Engine going rogue. Personally, I always find these bits they do fun as they tend to blur the line between the game world and ours. Plus it’s more interesting than “here’s a new teaser: guess what it is!”

Whatever is going on here will most likely be rolled out over the next few weeks and that just means we’ll have to keep checking back in to learn more. Until then — let us know what you think is going on with the Rumor Engine’s image and also the meta-narrative that’s developing.

It’s becoming even more self-aware!
