We get a look at the new subclass featured in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. The Path of the Giant makes Barbarians huge!

Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants only features one new subclass, but what a subclass it is. The Path of the Giant for the Barbarian brings the might and magic of Giants into the primal fury of Barbarians. This results in some extremely fun abilities that let you throw your weight (and your enemies) around.

You can take a closer look at the preview video that dives into the overall abilities of the new Path of the Giant class. So if you want to know what these Barbarians can get up to, check out this Path of the Giant preview.

Path of the Giant Preview

Path of the Giant Barbarians are living proof that size matters. This is because as soon as you take this Subclass, your first feature, Giant’s Havoc, allows you to become Large. Now we don’t know what exact mechanics this will take, yet. But we do know that in the Unearthed Arcana, this meant you could add your Rage damage modifier to thrown attacks (which is still present, per the video) and that you can become Large.

By and large, it looks like a lot of the previous iteration of the class is still here: Elemental Cleaver at 6th level lets you infuse weapons you are holding with elemental might. And any weapon you’re holding becomes a thrown weapon, meaning you can hurl that great axe, but then that weapon comes flying back to you. So you can throw it again!

Mighty Impel lets you throw any creature who is Medium or smaller around the battlefield, willing or not. But it will be interesting to see how, if at all, these abilities change. Hopefully, there’s been some improvement to the “growing large” portion of the subclass, because as it stands, all that does right now is give you five extra feet of reach. While nice, doesn’t feel like it captures the feeling of being a big stompy giant, which is supposed to be the Path of the Giant’s whole deal.
