Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist: All-in Assault Chaos Knights!

Goatboy here, and I needed to make a 40K list based on as many assault big Chaos Knights as I can. Try to stop this!

I remember seeing an Chaos Knights army at LVO that had 3 “Rampagers” built on the cool FW Kytan kit plus Rampager parts.  Which of course, is nuts to see three of them made. But it is something that burns a giant Khorne symbol into my brain. The other unit I want to add in is the new plastic Cerastus Lancer kit that is coming out.  The Chaos one has OK rules. Its ability to give to War Dogs is weird, but the model itself isn’t terrible.  It comes in hard, and it feels like you can easily Khorne it up and add it to a ton of Rampagers of doom.

Plus – the Rampagers are cheap as heck compared to other knights. This lets you put in some Daemons to help build the list. We’ll call it the Knights and their Hounds as they hunt their prey through the field.  It does feel like an army that would just be fun to go at your opponent, roll some saves, and hope for the best.  Heck, if you get there you can wreck things. It might be a good mix into things like Custodes that won the Tacoma GT as you can do a ton of damage in assault and survive getting hit back a bit.

Alright enough talking – let’s show this brew of nonsense that I keep thinking about as I look at the two Rampager kits I am sitting on.

Chaos Knights & Daemons Tactics

As you can see I added Karanak to the list as a “doggie” leader to the whole entire thing.  I love the dogs s they are a lot of wounds for 70 points with a free Heroic charge.  This can get you some extra movement as well.  Plus – they are great at doing some actions as needed being fast enough to move around and small enough to hide.  They new Dog kit is pretty good too.

There is a thought in a lot of my armies lately in working on the artistic side to truly create a nice looking list.  A lot of the time I have to dance between being a good list and something that looks cool.  Is it time for me to shift my game plan from winning more games than losing to just having an awesome as hell looking army and winning the hearts of the players with sweet conversions and skill?

Who knows… But this list just looks cool as heck right?  I bet you can do a Slaanesh one too with Fiends and other stuff on the Daemon side as well.  Things to think about as I look at unbuilt kits hehe.
