Check out this Vex cosplayer, or her bear, Trinket will be after you if the rest of the Critical Role cast isn’t.

Critical Role started as a sort of small, fringe fandom where people watched a bunch of strangers play D&D on camera for a few hours a week. And it exploded into something huge. With almost 15,000 subscribers, and well over 1,000 hours of content, Critical Role is easily one of–if not the–biggest actual play podcasts out there. So of course it has attracted quite a few cosplayers.

Legend of Vox Machina is the show’s first 460-hour-long season. And while D&D may have been what your parents’ unpopular classmates did with their free time, now it’s huge and hugely popular. To the point that Critical Role landed a huge crowdfunding goal and saw their first campaign turned into a multi-season animated series.

Vex is one of the two half-elf twins in the campaign, and the party’s ranger-slash-ranger. She’s charismatic, confident, deceptive, takes no shit, and rarely misses her mark. And cosplayer Sina’s version of Vex is pretty much exactly what I imagine when listening to this campaign. This is also one of those times when a very good cosplay is elevated even higher by a great setting and top-notch photography skills.

“If we had taken more money, everything would be fine right now.”

“Sometimes you have to embrace what’s in front of you. Not fight it.”

“We don’t do anything with dignity.”
