Games Workshop Rumor Engine: On The Warpath

It looks like a couple soldiers were on the warpath and had a bad time with the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop.

Well this one is…not looking good. Perhaps you should take a look at the Tuesday Rumor Engine yourself before we go much further.

So what are we looking at? Well, clearly it’s (at least) a couple of skeletons laying on some steps. That much is obvious. The next question is…who’s corpses are those? And where could this be taking place? One other detail is the horned skull at the very top — is that another victim of whatever took place here?

The fact that there is grass growing up in the rubble probably means those remains have been there a while, too.  Based on the armor, I don’t think it’s from the 40k side of the house. Although, for some reason, I am slightly reminded of Adeptus Custodes.

Maybe it’s the armor or the shield? Those skeletons aren’t Adeptus Custodes…they are too small!

Anyhow, what faction could those skeletons be from? Well, probably human. The do kind of have a Grave Guard look. It helps that they are, ya know, dead.

The armor and shield don’t exactly match however. I’m also curious about those stairs. We’ve seen a few different armies have structures with stairs leading up to something before. Like the Bone-Tithe Nexus or the Realmshaper Engine.

However, those already exist and the steps aren’t quite as ornate. At this point I’m at a bit of a loss here. That’s where you come in! If you’ve got any theories or ideas drop us a line in the comments and share them with the rest of the class.

Meta-Narrative Update

It seems as if the Rumor Engine is back with more of that “sentient” intelligence.

“To the task at hand. It falls to you to decode the wafer. The image and its meaning shall be revealed through the application of blessed Human Thought.

We still live.

We cannot be silenced.

Hmm…Sure seems like something “in the code” is still hanging out and looking to make a move. It wouldn’t be the first time GW got a little crazy with the Rumor Engine getting possessed!

What do you think those Skeletons are dying to tell us?
