Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition will soon have a brand new starter box on Kickstarter, perfect to get your friends into the game.

Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition is back with another Kickstarter in the near future. Only this time, they’re hoping to get even more people than ever jumping into the wide world of Advanced 5th Edition, with a brand new Starter Box. The Advanced 5th Edition Starter Box will have everything you need to get right in the game.

This is perfect for people who have been A5E curious but haven’t been willing o make the three core-rulebook commitment, which is understandable. Because those books are chonky. They are also the answer to most of your problems with 5th Edition. Those looking for more crunch, more options for martial characters to play with, and more ways to “explore” using the withered Exploration Pillar of 5th Edition will find a lot to love in the rules.

And the new starter box will make it even easier to transition.

What’s Level Up, you ask? Why, it’s a full replacement for your 5E rules, which remains compatible with all the adventures, monsters, spells, and other material you’ve collected over the years.

It was launched in 2021, and has had a ton of support material since, including a robust third party publishing community. This all-new boxed set is designed to introduce players to the system.

And it’s fully ‘open’ — under multiple open licenses (OGL, CC, ORC) as an entire fully-functional 5E SRD including all the feats, archetypes, and more that you need.

This is a sizable boxed set, comprising the following:

  • A 66-page rulebook that ‘upgrades’ your game from 5E to Level Up: Advanced 5E.
  • A three-part adventure path that introduces new rules to you as you go.
  • 5 pre-generated characters which show off the new options available in Level Up!
  • 91 cardboard tokens for heroes, villains, and monsters.
  • 5 poster maps.

Why should you try Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition? If you’re tired of seeing 5E rules not go far enough in either direction. If you want more than just Battlemaster Fighters to have interesting things to do. Custom spells? How about rare versions of spells you can find as treasure? There’s so much exciting stuff here, all of which you can try in the starter box.
