Warhammer 40K: Legends Units Get An Update

Games Workshop has refreshed a few Warhammer Legends for 40k. Looks like they aren’t completely forgotten afterall!

Warhammer Legends is essentially the last “rules updates” for the various models and units that GW ships over to that “line” of Warhammer. These might be old models or units that they just aren’t manufacturing anymore but they don’t want to completely end support for them. That said, while the models and units in the Legends bin do have rules, they aren’t allowed in official Warhammer Tournaments.  So why are we even talking about them? Because Games Workshop recently updated a handful of their rules.

You can download these rules via the Warhammer downloads page. Again, these might not be allowed in Official Tournaments these units technically have up-to-date rules for use in 10th edition Warhammer 40,000. To be fair many of these updates were likely errata or corrections. But hey, we’ll take it! If you were using any of these models/units you’ll appreciate the fact that they are at least getting some attention.

While I don’t think these models are likely to get pulled from Legends and added back into 40k propper (at least in terms of being allowed in Official Tournaments) it’s nice to see that GW is at least going back to fix errors/errata these units. Plus, many of these models were from Forge World and folks who purchased them should get rules to actually use those models!

So if you have any old Forge World units that aren’t in Imperial Armour or another Index, check Warhammer Legends. You’ve got rules for them in 10th and you can still use them outside of Tournaments.

What are some units that you have that are in Warhammer Legends? Do you think they should get Official Tournament rules or should they stay in Legends?
