“James “Bucky” Barnes was once the sidekick of Captain America. One of his closest friends and a tireless ally, he was always seen by his side as they fought against the evils across the world. He was also on that fateful, final mission that everyone assumed brought about the end of the duo’s heroics. Barnes wasn’t as lucky as his mentor, though, and was unfortunately “rescued” by the Russians.”

Winter Soldier’s new alternate version clocks in at Threat 4. And just as a baseline his defensive stats as well as his health pool are increased quite a bit. He’s also traded in his Assault Rifle for a Spec Ops Rifle. The bonuses on it have shifted as well as the fact that it’s got an extra point of damage over the other version. He’s also swapped out his Red Fury for two different actions altogether with Concussion Grenade and The Red Agent. The Red Agent looks like it could be a more powerful attack than Red Fury as it can deal additional direct damage to a bunch of enemy characters in range.

If you’ve got the energy for it Hit and Run makes for a good option to compress your action economy and get some extra distance. Kill Box is also a neat option for surprising the enemy with some terrain hits just from getting within range of the Winter Soldier.

On his injured side he does drop a point of health but otherwise he’s essentially the same. He’s still got his Spetsnaz Training and Stealth, too. Overall, this version of Bucky Barnes does make for a really good alternative option and for 1 more point of threat you’re getting a pretty nice deal.

New Core Set Team Tactics Cards

Along with all the new versions of the characters in the core set revamp we’re also getting some more Team Tactic Cards in the mix from Atomic Mass Games:
