The demons are back, and so is one of his most powerful enemies: Chris MacNeil. Check out the latest trailer for The Exorcist: Believer.

50 years ago this fall, the most terrifying horror movie in history arrived in theaters. The Exorcist, based on the best-selling book by William Peter Blatty, shocked audiences around the world. Its special effects and combined performance of Linda Blair and Mercedes McCambridge as Regan MacNeil convinced many what they were seeing on screen was real.

The movie changed the horror genre forever. Its success led to five sequels and a television series.

The Exorcist: Believer

This October, a new chapter begins when two girls encounter a powerful demonic force. When parents don’t find medical answers to their daughter’s plight, they turn to someone who has battled this before–Chris MacNeil. This is a remix rather than a remake. The story only recognizes William Friedkin’s classic and doesn’t include Pazuzu, the demon from the other movies.

The new trailer focuses on Chris’ connection to the demons – and the fight she has to lead to save the girls from damnation.

New Release Date

Initially this demonic horror movie had a Friday the 13th release date. Thanks to the movie version of Taylor Swift’s Eras concerts being added to the schedule, it’s been moved up a week to October 6th.
