Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist: Space Marines Vanguard Spearhead Infiltrators

This Space Marine list doesn’t care about staying in its deployment zone.   It is a Vanguard Spearhead detachment so with that’s let’s check it out.

In fact the whole Space Marine armylist is mostly an Infiltrating pile of plastic dudesmen designed to be all over the place and score the game.  Plus it uses a pretty rough little anvil unit to help shore up the middle and score those objectives like the bosses they are.

The idea here is to have everything Infiltrate or have a good scout move.  In fact some of these units can Infiltrate and Scout too which is a great way to keep your opponent off guard.  The new Scout unit is great at this as it is a super cheap unit ready to cause all kinds of problems.  I didn’t load them up with all their options but rather just built a quick “points” lists to review.  My build software updated so I can’t see all the lovely rules anymore but thankfully I can all least try out all the points.

I do have 2 relics in there – one gives the leader the ability to get Infiltrate as well as give the unit he joins that option.  The other gives the model “Lone Operative/Stealth” combo which helps cover the table in HQ choices that could do more than just lead a unit.  In fact that is the whole point of this list. It has a ton of options to move around, be hidden all the time, and just cause headaches to the opponent.

Space Marines Vanguard Spearhead Tactics

Basically as you can see the Terminators will join with the Captain and gain infiltrate which lets them show up a lot closer or hold the middle very well.  You then have the Jump Captain that is a Lone Operative who can move around, hide, and then punch things as needed.  The other Lt’s are also Lone Operatives as well as the Callidus which lets you cover the table and hopefully turn off a lot of shooting.  From there all the other options can scout, infiltrate, or do a combo of both to let you dance around your opponent.

Will it work?  Maybe?  Will it be hard to chew thru?  Oh for sure.  It might not kill a lot of stuff but an opponent is going to have to hustle to get your cleared off of the table.
