We break down the top two lists from the Games Workshop US Open event in Tampa—the winner is not who you’d expect.

A phenomenal general took gold at the Games Workshop US Open event in Tampa last week with amazing play and doing it with none other than the Sisters of Battle, Adeptus Sororitas. No one would have expected this.

Wow. World Eaters being 2nd place in the edition where everyone says assault is dead blows my mind. This speaks to the pilot of the list, of course, but also to the fact that there is plenty left to uncover in the early days of 10th.

Jeffery K taking the top spot with an army that EVERYONE seems to have counted out is spectacular. He took his collection to the big show and came out with the gold.  I hope I get to see him in Atlanta.

When we talk about solid play making up for some list efficiencies this is what we mean. The Balance Dataslate did a lot to level the playing field and now we’re seeing what players can do with it.  Still, I don’t think anyone would have predicted these two army lists topping the charts without being familiar with the players. Congrats to Jeffery and Jack, well earned and well fought.
