It’s time to paint up a Freeguild Command Corps units for Age of Sigmar in this week’s Hobby Highlight!

Today I am showing how I painted a Freeguild Comman Corps for Age of Sigmar.

The eclectic and fanciful Freeguild Command Corps is a charming unit for Cities of Sigmar in Age of Sigmar. Five of the six members have a choice of builds (not the Gargoylian) so you can customize and mix and match your favorites. Personally the Archknight with aquatic heraldry is my favorite and I have dubbed him ‘Hugo the Fish’. In game it has been all about the Surgeon and the Whisperblade, but on the painting table there was more parity. Painting the Command Corps was a blast.

Command Corps Paint Scheme

When it came to actually painting the Command Corps, I just added variation off of my basic Cities of Sigmar force, headed deep into wintry Andtor. The biggest departures from that basic scheme are the knight, who is mostly armor, and the gargoylian, who is a fairly unique scheme compared to the others.
The Gargoylian scales, teeth, and claws, plus any bones or paper were painted with Two Thin Coats Vampire Fang, glazed in Skeleton Horde, and re-highlighted with Vampire Fang.
