The first trailer for the Road House remake from Amazon starts with a perfectly appropriate slapfight in a parking lot.

The 1989 Patrick Swayze vehicle pits a honkeytonk bouncer against a corrupt businessman and his thugs in small-town Missouri. It’s filled with cheesy action, pretty people in fantastic 1980s fashion, and a soundtrack with some bonified classics. It wasn’t a theater hit, but its popularity took off when it hit home video and cable. It’s earned cult classic status over the years. If you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing it, it’s currently available to stream on Max.

In the Road House remake, a down-on-his-luck UFC middleweight fighter takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The job turns out to be more than he expected – the place is threatened by a developer with ties to not-so-good things. The location and Dalton’s backstory have changed, but the attitude and ridiculousness are still there. Check out the first trailer…
