A newly announced expansion for the Avatar Legends RPG promises a whole island of jasmine tea and leaves from every vine.

Magpie Games announced a new book for the Avatar Legends RPG. Focused on everyone’s favorite uncle, and with tools aimed at helping GMs and players tell stories that will span generations, Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide opens up whole new doors in the Avatar world.

Fans of Avatar: the Last Airbender will be familiar with the genial Uncle Iroh’s love for jasmine tea. Well, as it happens, Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide will introduce a whole new island to the world, Jasmine Island, the place where jasmine tea originates. This and more awaits in the upcoming sourcebook.

Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide

At press time, the page for Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide on Magpie Games wasn’t working properly, but coverage from Polygon revealed more details about the upcoming book. Notably, the book introduces new mechanics, new NPC legends, and new playbooks for players to create characters from. Of particular interest is The Bound.

The Bound has a crucial duty they’ve accepted and embraced, and now they set out on the challenging journey to actually fulfill that duty.

This will be great for players wanting characters with a destiny to live up to. On top of that, Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide will feature a playbook called The Broken, a playbook for older characters who have endured a terrible tragedy, as Iroh did when he lost his son, Lu Ten. Speaking of which, as Magpie president Mark Truman told Polygon, Uncle Iroh’s lost son features in the book:

“We featured General Iroh in the core book, but he will appear in full here as Uncle Iroh in the post-war Aang Era. We’re going to have full write-ups for both Princess Zeisan and her betrothed, Monk Khandro. Uncle Iroh’s Adventure Guide will also feature a legend page exploration of Lu Ten, Iroh’s late son, whose death forms the basis of one of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s most beloved and tear-jerking installments.”

Of course, the other big feature at the heart of the book is the rules for multi-generational stories. You’ll get to see these in the form of different legacies that players can carry across all five eras of play, starting with the chaotic era of Avatar Kyoshi, all the way through to the era of Republic City.

Look for all this and more in Uncle Irohs Adventure Guide due for release this September!
