Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder resurrect Tim Burton’s cult classic this fall. Check out the first Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice trailer.

The cult classic, directed by Tim Burton, was released in 1988. It stars Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin as a couple who buy their dream home. Due to an unfortunate accident, they become the ghosts that haunt it. When a new family moves in and ruins their once-perfect home with a modern remodel, the dead couple finds themselves needing help to convince the new occupants to move out. When Beetlejuice, played by Michael Keaton, answers the call, everything goes sideways.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice First Trailer

In the sequel, three generations of the Deetz family return to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Lydia is still haunted by Beetlejuice, who is about to make another appearance in her life thanks to her daughter. Astrid discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic of the family home and accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife. Things for both the living and the dead get more complicated. It’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

The fantastic Jenna Ortega plays the newest member of the Dietz family. She recently told Vanity Fair a bit about Astrid.

“I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say… She’s weird, but in a different way and not in the way you’d assume, I would say. The relationship between Lydia and Astrid, my character, is very important. And it’s also really strange because it’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”
