This week’s Rumor Engine from Games Workshop has us wondering what these scribbles could tease: Prophecy or Poetry?

Hopefully you know the drill because it’s Tuesday which means it’s time for a new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. Now, the last one said that his month was going to be all about the “weapons.” This could be a weapon from a certain point of view.

“Ah-ha! You see, the pen truly is mightier than the sword, and a good… uh… well-written poem can move entire armies. We haven’t made a mistake at all. “

Rumor Engine – Prophecy or Poetry

Clearly these strips of paper or cloth with words written on them. However, we can’t tell what those words are at all. I suppose that’s an “E” but the scribbles aren’t supposed to be legible. Why? Because this is on a miniature and those words would be very, very tiny!

My first inclination is that these could be purity seals. You see these on weapons on the time or stuck on parts of the armor of a Space Marine. But then I got to thinking, “what if these are a weapon?” Like some type of spell or something of that nature.

There’s LOTS of characters that have either books or scrolls that have writing on them that are magical. Maybe this Rumor Engine is teasing something along those lines.

At this point it’s pretty up in the air. If you’ve got any ideas please share them with the rest of the class. However you slice it someone has got some reading to catch up on. This really could be from any of the game systems as well. So this new Rumor Engine really does have us stumped.

This Rumor Engine has been brought to you by the letter “E” — and maybe a paper company.
