The Daughters of Khaine have already distinguished themselves as an army that thrives in chaos, and Age of Sigmar 4.0 can only make them better.

Welcome in, Generals of the Realms. The Daughters of Khaine always existed on the edges of “Order” in the Realms, and were certainly much more violent and chaotic than Sigmar would have liked. Following the whim of their dark queen Morathi, they reaped a bloody tally across the Mortal Realms for a long time. When Morathi finally achieved godhood, they broke away from the tenants of Sigmar and Teclis and carved their own path.

With 4.0 coming up, we have the chance to explore where the Daughters of Khaine stand in comparison to the other factions they once called allies, and perhaps old enemies becoming new friends. They don’t need much, but there are a few things I’d love to see for Daughters of Khaine in the new edition.

Deadlier Melee Rounds

The Daughters of Khaine have always distinguished themselves as some of the deadliest melee combatants in the Mortal Realms. However, recent changes have taken a lot of their thunder, making them a lot riskier to commit to battle. I’d love to see a return to the days of the Witch Aelf death star when a large unit of dual-blade Witches could annihilate just about everything in their path. More than that, though, I’d like to see the return of the Melusai threat. They were always some of my favorite models, and I want their deadly prowess to come back in a big way, especially with the reactionary nature of AoS 4.0. Snakes are deadliest when cornered, and I’d love for the Melusai to get a cool melee reaction.

A Wider Variety of Prayers

While Morathi is one of the deadliest spellcasters in the Mortal Realms, the real power behind the Daughters of Khaine is their prayers to the Murder God. Slaughter Queens were one of the nastiest priests for a long time, with access to some deadly and impactful prayers. With an increase in melee prowess, I’d love to see a return to the days of multiple attack phases or exploding 6s. This could even be reserved for the strongest Priests, like the Slaughter Queens, or locked behind a magic item. Whatever the cost, I know I’m not the only DoK player willing to pay it to get the blood pumping. After all, when you play Daughters of Khaine, you want to end lives in style.

UMBRANETH – Pretty Please!

No, I’m not sorry. Malekith/Malerion is intrinsically linked to the Daughters of Khaine, and specifically Morathi. As the real power in the Realm of Shadow, it only makes sense that Malerion would want a piece of the newly divided pie. While I’d really love for him to have his own army to face off against Tyrion, I’d accept him and his Umbraneth being a part of the Daughters of Khaine, or just bringing them under a single Umbraneth umbrella. This is a reach, I know, but it would still be cool.
