Free League just announced a new expansion for The One Ring RPG, Through the Doors of Durin, you’ll go to the mines of Moria, where Shadow and Flame once lay.

A new expansion announced from Free League Publishing today reveals that soon, The One Ring RPG will be headed “through the Doors of Durin”. The new book, Moria: Through the Doors of Durin, is set to take players and GMs into the depths of Khazad-dum, where the dwarves once mined and sang in the halls of Dwarrowdelf until they dug too greedily, too deep.

Darkness settled on Moria. Orcs, Goblins, and, of course, Durin’s Bane awoke and drove Durin’s folk from their lavish halls. Now, The One Ring wants you to go there. With a new expansion book full of rules for adventuring in Moria, whether as a short trek through treacherous depths or as part of a larger campaign to bring light back to the darkness that has settled over Durin’s Halls.

Moria: Through the Doors of Durin will be out within a few weeks, but there’s a PDF available now, so you can start playing right away when you pre-order. Let’s take a look!

Moria: Through the Doors of Durin

Moria – Through the Doors of Durin is an epic campaign expansion delving into the depths of Khazad-dûm for the award-winning second edition of The One Ring™ roleplaying game (TOR), based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Set in the years before Balin’s doomed expedition, this supplement contains a hoard of Patrons, Landmarks, foes, encounters and treasures that a Loremaster can use to construct their own adventures in Moria – from a single desperate journey in the dark to a grand campaign to retake Durin’s Halls.

As you might expect from a book about Moria, there’s a lot of Dwarf-lore contained within. You’ll find new rivals, allies, and patrons, as well as new Journey rules that have been adjusted for underground exploration.

But you’ll also find plenty of new foes, including a list of the Orcs and other enemies lurking in the darkness. You’ll even find rules for the fiery Balrog, Durin’s Bane. So whether you are darting through in a desperate race or whether you’re headed to Moria to try and put things right, there’s something to be found in Moria: Through the Doors of Durin.

You get a PDF immediately when you pre-order the new expansion, so you can dive right in.
