Age of Sigmar: Hidden In Plain Sight – New Idoneth Deepkin Inbound
Games Workshop dropped some not-so subtle hints that the Idoneth Deepkin are getting some major reinforcements.
When Games Workshop showed off the rules for the Sons of Behemat they also included a very interesting photo of them battling the Idoneth Deepkin.
Eagle-eyed readers might have already spotted a few things that seem a little off. So let’s take a closer look at the things we noticed in the image above.
Idoneth Deepkin Characters Spotted
First up we have mystery character #1. This Idoneth Deepkin member is floating with a school of gnarly-looking fish. I do recall seeing this miniature before and certainly not in another Idoneth Deepkin Warband either. They seem to be running with some Namarti Thralls so I’m curious as to their actual battlefield role.
Mystery Character #2 is in the middle of the image and hidden in the background. This character appears to be leaping from a wave and has a hooked glaive. I don’t think this is just some random Namarti Thrall either. Could we have another infantry character on our hands? It sure looks like it to me.
New Monster or Endless Spell?
The final image is from the right side of the picture. And there’s even something in the background of that image, too.
There’s clearly some sort of large sea creature coming out of the wreckage of a boat. There’s clearly a lot of extra doo-dads in that wave but the snarling face is easy to make out. This thing also looks to be slightly smaller than a Mega-Gargant. Now, that could be some clever camera positioning and how GW is hiding the base, too. Whatever this is, I want to know about it!
Also, did you see that thing in the background? Here’s the bit circled in red:
That water-tendril isn’t part of the beast’s base. It’s actually on a completely separate base altogether. What does that mean? Does this creature have some sort of independent tendril? Or is that a different spell or effect? It sure would be a strange marker in any case.
When Are The Idoneth Deepkin Coming?
After seeing these images I’m sure you’re probably wondering when we can expect the Idoneth Deepkin to make land fall. Well, that’s going to be soon…but we don’t know how soon.
The Idoneth Deepkin were shown as “Coming Next” after the new batch of Soulblight Gravelords and the Ravaged Coast Path to Glory book. Unfortunately, we don’t have any firm timelines to go on. However, this is still neat! It’s good to see GW just tossing out some teasers to see if anyone is paying attention.
