Horus Heresy: Friendly Reminder ‘The Dropsite Preview’ This Friday

Just a friendly reminder that Games Workshop is hosting the Dropsite Preview this Friday and you’re invited.
There’s something BIG coming to the Horus Heresy and Games Workshop is going to show it off with the Dropsite Preview Friday 23rd May, at 7 pm BST.
Now, if you’re wondering what time that is for you, good news! Games Workshop made a handy graphic so you can figure out when it’s showing in your local time.Via Warhammer Community:
“Join us on Friday 23rd May, at 7pm BST for the Dropsite Preview! We’ll be lifting the lid on some incredible upcoming releases and getting deep into the lore of the Age of Darkness.”
The Dropsite Preview
Now I’m a little intrigued about this one for a few reasons. It seems like GW is trying a slightly different format with this one. They are also mentioning they are going to show off new releases as well as “getting deep into the lore” which is curious. I do wonder if we’re in for some lore shake-ups…which would be shocking as the entire Horus Heresy series is, well, in book format from the Black Library.
To say it’s been covered extensively is probably an understatement. It’s also kind of amazing to think there’s still more facets of the Horus Heresy to cover…but that’s another topic.
Horus Hearsay Check-In
There’s also the “rumor” site that is TheHorusHearsay.com that Games Workshop has been using to drop more teasers. Speaking of which, here’s a few more since the last time we checked in with them.
Not sure what this random bit is from but it looks neat.
Is this the inside of a Dreadnought? Or maybe terminator armor? It does look cozy either way.
This artwork is interesting. The text on the site is teasing that this is the “new” Aquila for the Horus Heresy. Note the single-headed eagle. I’m not sure what to think of this one.
Here’s an up close look at some different hand bits. Not sure if these are attached to the same hand for posing or not but the details look crisp.
The Horus Hearsay site is claiming this is the base of a drop pod. Which is now square. I don’t know what this means but if it makes it easier to assemble I’m all for it.
Okay, this one is cute but I’m seriously doubting this will be used. Cardboard cutouts are a nice callback to 2nd edition. But does anyone really think this is going to fly in any sort of official GW event?
Here’s a good look at a servo skull. It’s mostly out of context but the bit looks great.
I’m not sure if this is a new Multi-Melta or not. While that would be neat, it seems too small.
Here’s a look at a space marine head. It’s got an interesting mouthguard/rebreather design for sure.
Finally, here’s a look at an armor plate still on a sprue. Also, fun fact, the “Warhammer 2025” is for when the sprue is copywritten. So these are indeed from 2025.
If you want to watch all the reveals then tune in to the Warhammer channel on twitch.tv. We’ll see you there!
