Horus Heresy: More ‘Hearsay’ Rumors Abound

Games Workshop is still keeping up the appearances for the Horus ‘Hearsay’ website. There are new teasers images to discuss.
In case you missed the news from earlier this week, we are getting some sweet looking new units for the Horus Heresy in a new boxed set. Games Workshop is still slow-rolling out the teasers even though images of the box have already been spotted online. That said, we’re going to comment on what’s “official.” Let’s get into those new teasers on TheHorusHearsay.com.
More ‘Hearsay’ Teaser Images
There are definitely going to be some new objective and token markers in the next edition of the Horus Heresy. This one looks like something from Adeptus Titanicus, to be honest. Personally, I’m kind of glad GW is making tokens for things that will impact units on the tabletop. IF that’s what this marker is actually for.
So this one clearly looks like a destroyed vehicle. But what’s it for? I’m pretty sure this is going to be used as a dramatic base for one of the characters in the upcoming boxed set.
This image is really clear and clean. It’s almost like they forgot to make it blurry or something. Anyhow, we’ve got a really good look at a combi-weapon here. I’m also pretty sure that’s a melta barrel, which is my personal favorite combi-option.
And here we have a look at some more plasma weapons. There certainly is a theme of loads of plasma in this box. I’m also pretty sure that this is going to fit on top of one of the character’s gauntlets…Now we just need GW to get around to showing off those miniatures already.
Other Rumors
The Horus Hearsay site also has a bunch of “text only” rumors. A lot of them seem to be jokes or gags. For example there’s the whole “Flamers FTW/FTL” posts. Both of them are saying contradictory things. There’s the rumor that bolters were going to drop to Strength 3. Or the one about Dreadnoughts getting to throw marines and have vehicle stats again.
Look, I’m not buying any of these “text only” rumors at this point. I think GW is just having some fun with this stuff. And if any of them turn out to be true…/shrug. It’s not like we can change those rules at this point. I’m giving all these text rumors the same weight I’d give a grain of salt: Not much.
Personally, I’d much rather Games Workshop just come out with proper pictures on the WarCom site. I’d really love to see the details on the new miniatures. The new Dreadnought looks awesome. And there appears to be another walker coming, too. No “official” pics on that one yet. But it sure looks even as a blurry image.
