Horus Heresy: ‘Saturnine’ Starter Box, New Dreadnought, & More

The Horus “hearsay” site has quite a few “teaser” images now. They have a new starter box coming, and it’s looking pretty good!
Okay, Games Workshop, can we stop with the charade now? This is either the best fake-out they’ve ever done, or it’s just time to drop the act and start showing us the goods. The new Horus Heresy Starter Box is coming and just in time for their “countdown.”
Yes, GW has a new countdown, and it looks like we’re going to get something important in about ~16 days. Which should line up for a Horus Heresy Thursday reveal. But we’re not here for that. We’re here for the new boxed set images. So let’s get into the new teaser images on TheHorusHearsay.com
Well, holy smokes! What do we have here? This appears to be the new Boxed Set that’s being “rumored” by the Horus Hearsay site. It’s called Saturnine. And oh my, would you look at that artwork on the front. I wonder if that’s for new miniatures (yes). What could those be?
That appears to be the new Saturnine Dreadnought. I guess that explains the “Dreadnought foot” art sketch we saw earlier. And that’s not all…
Well, look at that! We’ve got a new Saturnine Terminator. And this guy is rocking double plasma. That’s kind of terrifying for both the terminator and the enemies standing downrange.
Another teaser image is the MK II Veteran Legionary with a “new” gun. To top it off, that’s sure looking like it’s an Iron Hands paint job to me.
Now, I also have it on pretty good authority that the boxed set will have approximately 50 miniatures. If you need more “proof,” here’s another image of the back of that same box:
It sure looking like the box is going to feature Salamanders vs the Iron Hands and will have a pair of new HQ options inside. That said, there’s also a really good chance you can just paint everything up in the box as whatever Legion you’d like. I’m not 100% sure on that part, but I wouldn’t be shocked if that was the case.
In the meantime, I’m going to keep checking on the Horus Hearsay site. At this point, I feel like the cat is out of the bag, and GW should just make a post about it on WarCom. Let the Hypetrain do its thing already.
I don’t know about anyone else but I’m kind of digging this retro “Saturnine” Terminator look. Definitely a Rogue Trader-era callback.
