‘Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’ Players Took Out More Than 800K Trygons In Ten Days

Space Marine 2 players got rid of a lot of big bugs over the last ten days, killing almost a million trygons for big rewards.
This past month has been a big one for Space Marine 2. April saw the release of The Trygon Update, aka Patch 7, which unleashed the massive six-clawed melee specialist upon Marines throughout the sector. But it’s safe to say that those bugs have been squashed, according to a new update from Focus, publishers of Space Marine 2.
Almost One Million Trygons Slain In Space Marine 2 – Horde Mode Is Next on The List
The big April release was the Trygon Update, which had both new free content and paid DLC. In it, players got to tackle a new boss fight in the form of the Trygon, as well as traversing a new PvE map. On top of that, the Imperial Fist and Space Wolves cosmetics were finally released, as well as the Inferno Pistol and new weapon customization options. All in all, a good time.
As part of the uptdate, the Seismic Activity event challenged players to collectively bring down 200,000 trygons over the span of ten days. Which the community did with flair – collectively taking down more than 800,000 in just ten days. It just goes to show what you can accomplish when you really put your mind to it.
Rewards for the Mighty
As a reward for the considerable effort that players put in, players will now have access to the Mark X Tacticus Breastplate. But that’s only the beginning. Because the success was so rousing, and so many more than the required number of Trygons were slain, it seems there’s another reward in the works: the Porphyr Shield Chainsword skin, which will be available to claim after May 5th.
In the meantime, Focus has previewed a bit of what we can expect in the upcoming Patch 8, which has been codenamed “Horde Mode.”
Today we would like to tease you a bit more about what it is going to be like. First of all, you will be able to play up to three players (or with two bots, just like in regular PvE) and you will get to fight waves of both Tyranids and Chaos. Difficulty will increase for each wave defeated, so you’ll have to prepare yourself accordingly to vaporize as many waves as you can. Also, your class and weapon levels will be based on your PvE levels.
The action will take place on the planet Kadaku, which you can see pictured above. In addition to the Horde Mode, you can expect to see cosmetic packs for Blood Angels and White Scars in the Patch 8 update. Alongside those, a reworking of “Absolute” difficulty following community feedback.
There is no official release date as of yet. But it seems like Horde Mode is getting closer and closer. So grab your trusty bolter and chainsword, and get ready to hew through waves of the Emperor’s foes.
For the Emperor!
