Today we tackle an extremely tough topic: Khorne Bunny Ears. Which unit wore them best?

Every Chaos God has their specific aesthetic motif. Nurgle is all about bloat, rot, and guts. Tzeentch likes feathers and avian-themes. Slaanesh is really into exposed flesh and lithe claws. And then there is Khorne. Khorne really likes bunnies. Why else would some of the most potent Khorne units out there have Bunny Ears? Clearly Rabbits are Harbingers of Doom and War — gotta be why Khorne likes them so much.

Today, we’re looking at the handful of units that are rocking the Bunny Ears of Khorne. Don’t be fooled. These are not cute and fluffy bunnies. These are kill rabbits soaked in the blood of their enemies!

Horus Heresy World Eaters

My friends know that I play World Eater in the Horus Heresy. And when these upgrade packs were shown off yesterday I got more than a few messages from them commenting about how cool they looked. I don’t disagree. These new Khorne Bunny Ears upgrade packs are a bit more subtle than the more daemonically infused counter-parts. Sidenote: Those shoulder pads are pretty darn cool as well.

Classic Khorne Berzerkers

We gotta give props to the unit that really took this trend of Khorne Bunny Ears and made it iconic. Were they the first? Maybe not…but they are The Iconic Unit when it come to the Khorne Bunny Ears look.

Might Skullcrushers

Oh you didn’t think we were sticking to just 40k units did ya? No, no, no! We are tossing in some fantastic Khorne followers from the Mortal Realms, too. The Skullcrushers have some great looking Bunny Ears for Khorne Units and, in fact, the extra heads in this set made for great conversions for folks (like me) who have been waiting for the new plastic Khorne Berzerkers for years. Speaking of which…

New Plastic Khorne Berzerker

We’ve gotten just a tease for this unit so far but I personally really like the redesigned Bunny Ears. I’m hoping the rest of the unit shares in this redesign where the headgear is a tad more proportional to the rest of the body. While I do appreciate the classics, this new model does look more aesthetically pleasing to me. But that’s just like my opinion, man.

Blood Warriors

You know another awesome unit that made a great stand in for Khorne Berzerkers because of their Bunny Ears? Blood Warriors. Lots of folks slapped backpacks and bolters on these models and field them as Khorne Berzerkers. And who could blame them?! They totally worked and looked good doing it.

Lord of Skulls

Does this one count? I mean…it’s a Lord of War. And the Bunny Ears were an optional choice. And they don’t quite look the same…but whatever! I’m making up this list as I go and I wanted to include this model. Because it’s just as ridiculous as the rest of the Khorne Bunny Ears!

There are so many more units with Khorne Bunny Ears — but we’re going to stop with these units. We didn’t even dive into characters…maybe that will be a different list. What’s that? The Bunny Ears are supposed to look like Bloodletter Horns?

Hmm…I think you see what you want to see. And I see Bunny Ears. Big, scary, blood soaked Bunny Ears of the Blood God…

What are some of your favorite Khorne Bunny Ear units?
